Breakfast:

Since I was up late, I slept in until about 10am.  I ate about 2 slices of bacon, all that was left from my last batch, and had about half a Poweraid Zero to re-hydrate before heading out to Walmart for some shopping.

Lunch:

At Walmart, I bought a rotisserie chicken and ate half of the breast with a variety of hard cheese, cheddar, gouda, and provolone.  The label on the chicken said it’s 2 carbs per serving so I likely won’t get this flavor again.

Snack:

Also at Walmart I restocked my peanut butter supply and, by the afternoon had spooned out several delicious servings.

Dinner:

After a nap, I decided to use the other pair of bread slices I had pulled from the freezer and made a sandwich.  I had BBQ flavored pork rinds as an excellent substitute for chips.

Breakfast:

I worked in the office today but still found time to blend up a BulletProof Coffee, this time with Hazelnut flavoring.  It rained the whole way in so I had plenty of time to drink it all be be caffeinated by the time I arrived.

Lunch:

As I was leaving this morning, I grabbed the first tupperware out of my freezer and it turned out to be meatloaf, made with pork rinds and parmesan instead of the usual bread crumbs or oatmeal.  I also had a diet soda to keep the caffeine going.

Snack:

Mid-afternoon I had an energy drink.  I feel like I ate something but can’t remember what it would’ve been.

Dinner:

After work I went out to a “Stoplight” party, which is basically happy hour.  I did well and had two vodka and diet cokes, keeping the carbs down.  I stopped at In&Out on the way home and ordered an “Animal Style” thinking it was their “Protein Style”, which is lettuce wrapped.  We mainly do Whataburger here in TX so I’d only been once before but had heard of it.  I didn’t have any utensils and it was a bit messy so I just had it with the bun.  Lessons learned.

Snack Pt. 2

After arriving home and unwinding, I did also have a bit of Lily’s chocolate.

Breakfast:

I basically made the same BulletProof Coffee as yesterday, with the cookie dough syrup, plus I added a little cocoa powder.  I also decided to try adding a little bit of Apple Cider Vinegar to it; I’ve heard a little each day is good and that it’s also good to mix it with other stuff so you don’t taste it, so the BPC would be perfect.  I put just half a tablespoon and it destroyed the coffee; it was awful.  I did manage to get it all down but definitely didn’t enjoy it.

Lunch:

I knew I wanted more of the Broccoli Salad for lunch and searched for a quick, basic meat I could have with it.  I found these Chicken Meatballs in my freezer and decided they were perfect, with only 2 carbs per 3-meatball serving.  After thawing them, I did a quick run in the microwave.  They were a good side to the broccoli salad and had a good but strong flavor.  Online reviews mentioned a bunch of gristle but I only found one little piece I spit out of the whole batch.  For me, the down side is I was still tasting them the rest of the evening.

Dinner:

I went to walk and decided to try a new chicken place near us for dinner, it just opened a few weeks ago.  I ordered a 10-piece mix meal, since that’s easy to peal the skin off and avoid the bread. I got okra (for my brother) and green beans as the sides – perfect.  I arrived home to find a box of tenders, not easy to peal, and french fries instead of green beans.  Absolutely every item I got was carb-loaded and, left with the decision of eating it or throwing it away and eating something else, I decided I would at least try to enjoy it and threw in some Whataburger ketchup as well (I can’t waste money like that).  I ended up miserable in addition to being very upset since everything was so heavy.  If I ever order from there again, I’ll definitely be going inside and checking things before I leave.

Breakfast:

Again, BulletProof Coffee to start the day, this time with some Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough sugar free Torani syrup added in – yum.

Lunch:

For lunch, I went ahead and mixed up the Broccoli Salad I’d found online.  I chopped the fresh broccoli last night so today I cooked the bacon (and ate a little) and steamed the broccoli while mixing up the “dressing”, which is just mayo with some Apple Cider Vinegar and stevia.  I also shredded some cheddar.  It came out surprisingly good and I quite liked it, I’ll definitely make it again.  I had it with what was left of the naked wings I ordered from Papa Johns the other day, dipped in Ranch.

Dinner:

This afternoon, my order of Smart Cakes and Smart Buns came in.  Luckly, I still had two turkey burgers in the fridge from yesterday.  I cooked those in my cast iron pan with some bacon grease and buttered and toasted the buns on a griddle.  Some cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles completed the meal.  I also had some BBQ flavored pork rinds as a chip substitute.

I thought the Smart Buns were quite good.  A little denser in texture than a normal hamburger bun but good flavor and a perfectly good substitute.  The best part is, according to the company, they come out to 0 net carbs.

Snack:

I couldn’t resist also trying one of the Smart Cakes I got today.  I went with chocolate, but also received coconut and cinnamon (which is what came in my Keto Krate so I’ve tried).  The texture was a little dense and it could have been more chocolaty but overall it was pretty good.

Unfortunately, the cake triggered the craving for real chocolate so I did eat a serving of Lily’s chocolate, sans peanut butter for once.

Breakfast

I worked from home today so BulletProof coffee was my mid-morning start to the day.  I attended a “GISHWHES tea party” event at a coffee shop last weekend and was able to get several new Sugar Free Torani syrups.  Today I added English Toffee, which was nice but next time I’ll add a little more to really get the toffee flavor.

Lunch

I prepped my lunch around lunchtime but got busy with work, on a call, so I didn’t get to eat it until the afternoon.  I also forgot to take a picture but it was just a plate of sausage with some sliced hard cheeses.

Dinner

Surprisingly I wasn’t hungry for a time after lunch and didn’t eat until after my walk.  While walking, someone was grilling and it smelled delicious so I had to pull and cook some turkey burgers once I got home.  Just a turkey burger topped with a slice of cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles – delish.

I bought some fresh broccoli a bit ago and found a good recipe to use with it, so I also chopped it up in preparation and will do the rest tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Breakfast

The down side of running out of eggs and just subsisting over the weekend is that I didn’t have anything prepped for Monday.  Luckily, my building has a little cafeteria/snack bar.  A warm hardboiled egg and some bacon held me over until the afternoon.  The coffee was just black with sweetener added, and cinnamon, not BulletProof coffee as it’s more of a meal substitute.

Lunch

While grabbing my breakfast I also got this little salad for my lunch, which I ate at around 1pm.  The ranch packet was two carbs, plus whatever all the spinach and tomatoes added up to.

Snack

I got into to work fairly late so I was also there until 6pm.  Mid-afternoon I had this cereal protein bar, the one I actually got in my May Keto Krate.  I also had two pieces of sugar free Dibs, which is a caramel.

Dinner

My brother went shopping today (yay eggs!) and, left to his own devices, bought a loaf of bread and has been going on a sandwich binge, which of course sounded delicious.  I pulled out some of my low carb bread and had a sandwich as well.

Egg Fast (Round 2) – Day 3

Breakfast

My BulletProof coffee this morning was chocolate flavored; I added some cocoa powder and chocolate flavored sweetener and it was definitely delicious.

Lunch

Early afternoon I had some scrambled eggs with provolone, for something different.

Snack

I had received a cereal-style Quest protein bar as part of my last Keto Krate and ordered a few of each to sample.  The box of untried flavors, together with a shortage of eggs, led to my breaking of the egg fast for the evening, starting with this chocolate cookie protein bar.  I thought it was pretty good but my brother didn’t care for it.

Dinner

The many pizza commercials and ads I’ve been hit with lately, both on tv for Papa John’s return of the cheeseburger pizza and online for larger versions of the Real Good pizza in stores finally broke me and I had a small pepperoni pizza for dinner, together with a soda.

I also hardboiled some eggs and mixed them with tuna, which I ate a little of before putting the bulk in the fridge for later.

Snack

The down side of those protein bars is that they are very sweet, which triggered the sugar craving.  I finished off the last of the cream cheese mixed with Jello (half of what’s pictured below) but it didn’t do the trick so I also had one serving of Lily’s (half a bar) with some peanut butter.

Even though I didn’t stick to the egg fast all day today, I did at least stick with low carb, despite the cravings and options in the house for otherwise.  I haven’t yet decided on tomorrow, whether to get back on (after buying eggs) or stick with the LC, so we’ll see.
